I’ve already come to the end of three months in this beautiful city. As I mentioned on my blog post called the first impressions about the Golden City that I was sure this city would provide me many more beauties, and it turned out exactly how I thought!
When I look back at my Prague adventure, the first thing I need to tell you is: DREAM BIG AND CHASE YOUR DREAMS, DO NOT BE AFRAID OF LEAVING YOUR COMFORT ZONE!
Previously, I have attended Erasmus+ learning mobility in Belgium and that was when these sentences became my reality. Since I really enjoyed that experience, I wanted to get the next opportunity which was Erasmus+ internship and for that purpose, I started to look for an institution I could work for as an intern and at the end I have got the chance to live in Prague, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, for three months.
During these 3 months, I love this city more and more and here I gained many beautiful memories, experiences and got the chance to discover my own self.
My First Job Experience
Since I have done an internship before only for a really short time, I could say that ÇekTürk was my first job experience through which I developed some of my skills like translating, writing blogs, communication while I gained working discipline in a really friendly environment.
It provided me a job experience right after my graduation, made my summer more meaningful and also it was an international experience which in future may bring many more opportunities to me.
Erasmus Reunion in Prague
Due to Prague’s location which is right in the center of Europe, I could get the chance to meet many of my friends that live in Europe whom I met during my first Erasmus in Belgium. I have walked around Prague over and over again with all the friends visited me and I could say that each time was as excited as if it was the first time I saw it.
During this time, I have visited Cesky Krumlov, a fairy tale kind of a city that is located only 2 and a half hours away from Prague.
Cesky Krumlov is on the UNESCO World Heritage list and with its very old historical background, amazing architecture that was affected by different styles throughout its history, Vltava river and its green hills, it takes you to different times in the history.
Even though this might sound like a cliche, in this Medieval town Cesky Krumlov, you will literally feel this way. Even though many of European cities including Prague is very historical, I could say that the way I felt in Cesky Krumlov was very new and unique.
As you all might have experienced already or you all could guess, living abroad on your own first of all helps you to improve your language skills and also makes you more self-confident. I could say that besides these, I also discovered myself here in some ways.
Even though I had a similar experience abroad, learning and internship mobilities are very different. During the learning mobility, I was surrounded by many other Erasmus students while during this internship I was mostly on my own.
As a very social person who loves being around the other people, I need to tell that I was quite upset in the beginning. However, Prague taught me how to appreciate and enjoy every moment, and also taught how sometimes you might be alone without feeling lonely.
When I think about the three months I lived in Prague, I can say that: I am really glad that I wanted to do this and made an effort to make my dream come true. I can’t wait for the upcoming experiences to live, places to visit, people and cultures to meet!
